Joined 8-year old university experiencing lack of continuity, vision, and stability due to previous revolving door 

of 5 IT Directors in 5 years. Challenged to reconnect Central IT with faculty/students to heighten overall user experience and establish university as leader in new technology use. Oversee 25-member team providing core IT services and $6M (plus projects) budget.

Impact: Developed highly synthesized IT operations that reallocated expenses into investments and resulted in improved service availability.

  • Introduced training/mentoring program for all interested IT staff that eliminated dependency on external contractor and lowered consulting fees by over $100K.
  • Rebuilt faculty/student trust in Central IT by establishing solid reputation for regular communication and systems stability.
