The role can be summarized as follows:

  1. Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  2. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  3. Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
  4. Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications
  5. Hold custody and evangelize the agreed Application Development  policies and standards.
  6. Set up Application Support processes in line with predefined client requirements and SLA's.

1. PLM Device Analytics  - Analytics

The Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) Portal is an analysis tool that is  used for various management forums but in particular; the Device Management Meetings. It is an integral part of the operating Rhythm for Device Profitability and Management of the Clients Portfolio.

2. Channel Inventory Management - Web App

The application is used as an interface that enables the customer and key dealers to collaboratively manage store inventory replenishment.

3Program 180 - Global Reverse Logistics Project 

Program 180 plans to launch a single Global Reverse Platform including IT systems and business processes that is both internal and external facing and supports the efficient and repeatable collection, processing and redistribution of any reverse product both internal and external, enabling the achievement of a low conversion cost to acquisition per unit result for both existing and new customers. It will align all regions by consolidating to one processing platform across all reverse operations. Aligning globally will create the ability to integrate other IT platforms to create a full Reverse ecosystem.

4. EU Logility Implementation -Supply Chain Planning Overhaul Project 

The Logility project aims to implement appropriate supply chain planning tools to manage inventory across the EU region. This will provide for accurate forecasting and stock management and enable to the business to identity optimum supplier deliver cycles.

5. Inventory Management  Dashboard - Qlikview Reporting Dashboard - Analytics

This project was created to develop a dashboard that would enable a full view of the operational metrics impacting the Inventory Management  team. The dashboard should give the  team an end to end view of their current operational environment and allow them to design custom views for different scenarios. The end goal of the dashboard is to shorten Time-To-Decision and minimize the risk of human error when reworking data. The dashboard should enable the team to more easily make value adding decisions in their environment and day to day work while ensuring mobility.

  1. Analysis of client site for opportunities to save on inventory.
  2. Optimize inventory performance relation to stock availability and stock holding.
  3. Analysis of current client supply chain policies and procedures
  4. Liaise with different functions within the client organisation ensuring complete understanding of current cost and inventory management
  5. Develop and implement inventory and management processes that add value to customer operations
  6. Implementation of  Inventory Optimization Software ,configuration and installation thereof.

Project Highlights:

  1.  eThekwini Municipality
    • Design and implement a warehouse and inventory management strategy and roadmap.
    • Design and implement a policy which is aligned with the requirements of the MFMA.
    • Gap analysis of the whole supply chain operations against generally accepted practice.
  2.  Pick n Pay
    • Recommend tools and design processes which can be deployed by Pick n Pay for the general merchandise in order to:
      • Identify and alleviate constraints experienced by the stores in terms of storage capacity
      • Alleviate the stock imbalances the contribute negatively to the space problem
      • Recommend a demand management process which will account for spikes brought on by promotions also taking seasonality into consideration.
  3.  PetroSA
    • Due to the pressure on the oil price at the time, there was a great need by PetroSA to reduce operating costs in order to remain profitable. The supply chain, more especially the inventory value was to be optimized in order to reduce stockholding while increasing target service levels from 86% right up to 95 %.
  4. Eskom Distribution
    • Increase Eskom distribution overall service level and availability to 98%
    • Reduce SOH costs by R20 million
    • Implement, configure and install Supply Chain Optimization software
    • Entrench the inhouse methodology within various distribution regions and their logistics departments
