On page 38 of this program I am named for my contribution to the conference. I was a co-author of "Professionalism and CMC: Perceptions of Emoticon Usage in the Workplace." The panel consisted of two others and myself and we discussed the research that was undertaken in relation to our paper.
Included is a research article that was completed by three others and myself. Within it we discuss previous research related to emoticon usage and professionalism within the workplace. We designed a research plan to assess these factors. As many as 15 hours were spent developing and combining the research efforts of all team members.
Included is an evaluation completed by my supervisor after my time spent performing my duties at my internship. I interned at a local country club as a sales assistant.
I earned the highest GPA of my pledge class and partook in community service events like "Clean Up Belmar." This was an event that involved cleaning up the trash on the street in which our fraternity house was located.
I was recognized as member of the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester.
In this paper I discussed how prejudice has impacted myself as a person and evaluated possible ways to avoid and prevent prejudice in certain situations.
In this paper I discussed how vocal cues and various communication techniques can be utilized in persuasion.
This was an internship opportunity where I was expected to sell golf related items to the members of the country club. I also managed the shop at times and was partially responsible for the coordination and organization of large tournaments.
West Virginia University has truly changed my life. It has offered a great deal of opportunities that have led me to become a better person. I was challenged educationally and have obtained a great deal of knowledge that has prepared me for future endeavors.
