On track to complete 1,325 supervised practice hours to be eligible for the Registration Examination for Dietitians, which included clinical, community, food service and administration rotations.

  • Performed nutrition assessments and implemented nutrition interventions following Medical Nutrition Therapy guidelines for a variety of disease states including obesity, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, kidney, and liver
  • Documented patient information on electronic medical records (ex. Cerner, Epic and Spirit)
  • Observed a sigmoid colectomy and tracked patient until discharge providing medical nutrition therapy throughout
  • Collected and analyzed data in the NICU to find that infants who were fed fortified expressed breast milk or donor breast milk earlier returned to birth weight sooner, had decreased days on TPN, and ultimately decreased lengths of stay; presented findings to lead doctor and induced policy change
  • Crafted an in-service on consistent carbohydrate diets and trained food service workers in a hospital setting
  • Gained experience in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Created a school district wide display for National School Breakfast Week
  • Provided nutrition education to patients at WIC including breastfeeding mothers
  • Completed a 4-week specialty rotation with the Ole Miss football team and provided counseling and education to the athletes as well as assisted with hydration testing and BodPod assessments
