LiveVox Inc.

Livevox is a cloud based call center service provider, capable of scaling to several million calls per day. As a member of the VoIP team, my goal is to provide a reliable, scalable and integrated platform foundation for Livevox voice services: * Main developer of a new high availability system for agents, that minimized a critical single point of failure and burst a scalability bottleneck from 700 to up to 16,000 simultaneous agents calls. * Lead developer of a new centralized dynamic routing component to increase scalability, and ease change management and maintenance procedures across all gateways. * Developer of several new SIP application features and internal APIs, weaving together open source software tools like Ucarp/Monit, Opensips, Asterisk, Tomcat, Mobicents, Memcached and in-house applications. * Early adopter and supporter on the definition and adoption of a new Agile and continuous integration and automated testing development process based on Atalasian's suite tools like Jira, Confluence, Bamboo and Greenhopper.

Debian Project

As a member of the pkg-voip team, successfully maintained several IP telephony packages, and helped to significantly increase the interest for the Debian project in Latin America, by mentoring local volunteers.

Co-leaded the company from a promising self-funded startup, to a well-known reference in the local VoIP and Telecommunications landscape, through the consolidation of alliances, partnerships, and distribution channels both with local and foreign partners, and a strong focus on the IP PBX market.

  • Developed and intruduced to the local market a complete IP PBX telephony product, based on Debian, Asterisk and Avatar Ltda's own open source web administration tool called Destar, that was honored Bronze in Les Trophées du Libre 4th edition, 2007.
  • Successfully lead the execution of more than 70 IP telephony projects, achieving Customer Satisfaction rates above 80%, with a “very-good” qualification from ITSPs such as Telmex/Claro Colombia  (biggest private Telecommunications Operator in the country), and companies like Nokia Siemens Networks, ACH Colombia, BBVA Colombia, among many SMBs in Colombia, USA, Central America and the Caribbean.
  • Design coordinator for the research and development project “ICOM, an open source unified communications platform /  IP Centrex”, a 2 year and US$ 280.000 co-funded project between Avatar Ltd., the University of Cauca and the Colombian national institute for research, science and technology COLCIENCIAS-SENA.



Technology entrepreneur with both development and product design management backgrounds, whose purpose is facilitating personal development of passionate people by taking to reality innovative high-impact ideas. His portfolio of projects go from Cloud Call Center and PBX unified communications based on Open Source and voice over IP, through several Twitter mashups, Design-thinking for startups, Agile practices combined with PMI, to an alternative photo magazine and his family organic coffee growing farm certified by RainForest Alliance. He likes volcano summits, half marathons, and oil painting, and is now looking forward to his first art exhibition and completing his Master degree in Product Design Management.
