Member of ESADE Alumni, I have worked as consultant-volunteer forthe program Alumni Solidario. My role was co-lead the teanm, and we have developed a fundraising plan for a NGO along 2009 and 2010.

In the past, I have been member of Architectos Sin Fronteras (NGO for improving the housing and quartiers in several countries).

Consulting of Innovation, focused on Hotels and Tourism on a wide range of services, from the lay-out and feasibility studies, up to advisory in operations.

Special attention to the environmental aspects and the sustainability is payed in any phase of the projects. 

At the present, the project is under development and the opening is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2010, yet the blog is available (only in Spanish) at the corporate web site.

NH Hoteles

Multinational of the Hospitality sector specialized in the European urban segment, leader in Spain and Italy, and third in Europe. Presence in 22 countries across Europe, America and Africa. 18000 Employees, €1500M Revenues (2007)

Corporate Project Manager for new international hotels, since the feasibility phase together with the Expansion Department, until their opening. Annual investment managed of €25M. Direction of external and internal teams up to 30 people.

R&D Product Manager focused on improving the functionality and the quality of the product . This mission had two lines of development: optimization of management processes (see chart at the right) and development of innovative business solutions to be more competitive.

Main achievements:

  • Management of new projects in Italy, from the start-up of the Business Unit, to the post Merger & Acquisition phase of two local companies. After that process, NH became the leader in Italy, (a strategic market for leisure and business), growing up from 5 to 68 hotels.
  • Increase of efficiency managing projects through the development of  tools such as: benchmarking, technical specifications for external teams, checklists, reports & newsletters, data base integration, etc. As a consequence, an increasing percentage of time could be used for the creation of knowledge (R&D).
  • New Brand Rooms Project. The Expansion Plan will increase +18000 rooms in 3 years. With this project, the innovative concept was rationalized for a reduction of total costs (€165M less regarding the prototype). Special atention payed to sustainability in the whole supply chain. Awarded as Best Standard Room at the European Hotel Design Awards 2009, organized by the prestigious magazine Sleeper.
  • Creation of a dynamic data base in Google Earth. Precise location and automatically updated status for each hotel (analysis, signed, open or dead).
  • Creation of a new concept for open air gastronomy & relax spaces at Resorts. In collaboration with Marketing and Food & Beverages Departments.
  • Creation of several communication and learning tools, both internal and external.
  • Commercial actions during 2007-08, with the first fees perceived by the Department from external investors and clients to the point of self-financing.
  • Teaching and promotion actions in several forums: internal learning programs, collaborations with universities and professional associations of architects. Sharing knolwedge as a way to promote better hospitality spaces.

Director of Architecture & Building Projects, responsible for all the relationships with the clients,  authorities, constructors, external and internal teams. Direction of site works, tender procedures, budget , time & quality control, health & safety control, environmental requirements, changes management,  building permits, reporting to the client and other agents, and all the responsibilities of project management.

The internal responsabilities were: team building, stablishment of tasks, goals and objectives, economical management of project (negotiation of contract with the client, profit margins, turnover and invoicing...), information management, planification and evaluations of results after closing a project.

I held a polivalent and flexible role: project manager (external architect) or senior design architect, (own projects) depending on the project.

  • BBVA, Refurbishment of the Headquarters, Tower at Azca complex (Madrid). Budget €19,5M / 44716 m2.

I achieved the stablishes goals (in economic, quality and time terms) in all the managed projects, and generated profit for the firm over the stablished objectives (>80% margin).

Architecture Studio focused on hospitals projects, where they join excellence in design, functionality and technical skills.

I collaborated with the Studio as part of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme of the European Union. During one year I held a fellowship for working there as a Junior Architect, assisting in several big projects of hospitals.

The experience of living one year in Italy was very fulfilling, and it allowed me to consolidate my Italian.

In Tuscany there is a strong theatre heritage at all levels, and since the 70's lots of experimental trends where born here. The building offers a flexible space for these activities, including rooms for teaching. It is localted in a degraded -but full of potential- zone of the city, along the riverside and at the end of a marvelous promenade.
