Responsible for campaign planning and management. With the Director, served as the senior advisor and spokesperson to the Commanding General and key staff for a command of 55,000. Capitalized on emerging news cycles and key events to demonstrate unique Marine capabilities and contributions. Managed a team of 50 producing and distributing multimedia news products, media engagements, crisis communications, issue management, community relations, and assessments.
Served as advisor to the Commanding General, operations and recruiting staffs for media and community relations, and recruiting awareness campaigns. Hosted nearly 250 media for local news and Educator Workshops, where more than 2,000 teachers learned how Marines are made. Produced more than 120 weekly newspaper editions with a 20,000+ circulation. Administered the Visitors’ Center for over 100,000 guests and managed over 170 tours for 9,500 members of civic and veterans groups.
Developed a team of more than 40 Marine correspondents for combat deployments.Supervised production of more than 750 news releases produced in combat and thousands of accompanying photos.Implemented embed program of 193 international media during intense combat in Fallujah and Ramadi.Coordinated media opportunities for deploying and returning units, as well as for Marines being decorated for valor.
