Business Transformation Implementation Manager - Remote Operations

Schlumberger, Saudi Arabia

I was selected to plan and launch Remote Operations program in Saudi Arabia's Drilling & Measurements organization to transform the field organization into a
productive and flexible structure that is less prone to cyclic service activity. My
responsibility was to manage several simultaneous projects that led to the successful introduction of Remote Operations, and integrating it with the traditional operation model without any service quality issues. I led a team of 23 Engineers and Operators; including their training & competence, compensation, and assignments; to achieve the objectives of the Remote Operations program.

  • Implemented technology and HR models to launch Remote Operation. Grew
    Remote Operation to 60% of daily operation in 14 months.
  • Transformed the Drilling and Measurement's Crew model from an average of 4
    Engineers/Project to 2.4 Engineers/Project. This resulted in a 40% reduction ($10 Million) in field compensation over a 14-month period.
  • Delivered and applied Remote Operations' quality management and risk
    management plans, resulting in Zero Non Productive Time (NPT) for our client due to procedural adherence errors.
  • Created new Remote Operations Processes, and continuously improved them.
    Efficiency increased as a result, by reducing task execution time by up to 50%.

Senior Project Manager / Project Manager

As a Project Manager, I was responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of Drilling & Measurements field projects in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I was also the focal point of interaction with client representatives on location. I led a team of 4 engineers in projects contributing up to $5 Million in revenues per month.

  • Collaborated with client representatives to integrate Drilling and Measurements processes with rig operations in more than 100 wells.
  • Recognized by clients in multiple projects for breaking drilling time records and preventing operational failure.
  • Contributed to up-selling and cross-selling of services and new technologies to our client on multiple occasions, based on the client's unmet needs. This led to an additional revenue of $2 Million for Schlumberger, and more efficient production capability for Saudi Aramco.
  • Led a team of 4 engineers in the challenging Relief Wells project. Successfully completed this critical project on time, and achieved all requirements, saving Saudi Aramco millions of US Dollars in financial and environmental impact due to the blowout situation.

This involved managing the construction sub-contractor constructing the mobile sites and ensuring the delivery of the mobile site on time, and budget.
