Dear Selection Committee:

As a student currently enrolled in the primary-junior program at the Faculty of Education, Nipissing University, I am looking forward to putting everything I have learned into practice. My teaching placements have provided me with hands-on experience and I am very excited that my educational path has led me to apply to your school as a teacher.

As you will notice on my curriculum vitae, I have focused my experiences towards a career in teaching since my co-operative education placement in High School.  These placements inspired me to become a teacher and each experience since has exposed me to new and different teaching situations. My co-ops with Morison Public School offered me a chance to observe diverse teaching styles and taught me how to build a good report with students. With these experiences, I went on to work for the same school board for several summers, providing active learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy for at-risk children. These experiences and more have exposed me to a variety of teaching situations, all of which I believe would be an asset to your school.

I believe Nipissing University’s hands-on approach has led me to become very competent in the core subject areas. I also offer a strong background in dance and drama from my participation in school plays and dance training. My experiences overseas have also taught me so to appreciate other cultures and languages. I look forward in using these skills to participate in all aspects of school life.

Thank you for considering my curriculum vitae. I hope it has convinced you that I am a suitable candidate for one of your teaching positions. Please feel free to contact my references. I would be pleased to respond to any further questions in an interview. I can be reached most conveniently by e-mail at [email protected]
