Coached a group of diverse and talented Windows engineers in applying their skills to achieve KeyCorp's business goals while preparing them for integration with the Operations team.

  • Coordinated two million dollar server hardware budget to deliver cost savings of approximately $250,000 and reduce datacenter server sprawl.
  • Increased Citrix environment stability and improved operational service levels for critical external business functions and internal utilities (from 1.5 incidents per week down to 2 incidents in six months).
  • Led Windows Engineering team in using their skills and talents to successfully move a 1,700-server datacenter with no client or line of business impact.
  • Mentored newer managers to increase their efficiency and effectiveness in their new role.

Managed a diverse team of technical professionals supporting KeyCorp's infrastructure for web security and application platforms. Responsible for hiring, staff development and talent retention.

  • Achieved goals of reducing incidents and increasing infrastructure uptime.
  • Sponsored an internal initiative to develop a limited-scope CMDB (configuration management database), resulting in increased configuration consistency.
  • Developed relationship mapping and inter-system configuration tracking for KeyCorp's implementation of IBM WebSphere and Tivoli Access Manager.
  • Wrote and delivered a leadership development course focused on understanding and navigating stages of team development, improving the process of team maturation.
  • Partnered with multiple application development teams to increase reliability and supportability of the infrastructure platforms keeping KeyCorp's 250-plus web applications available.

Managed a team of Unix Administrators supporting Keycorp's production infrastructure of Linux, AIX, Solaris and HP-UX servers. Responsible for hiring, staff development and talent retention.

  • Focused on and achieved goals to drive down outages and improve time to repair.
  • Coordinated team's involvement in multiple disaster recovery exercises to improve response times and reduce effort to recover.

Administered and managed Keycorp's infrastructure of Unix servers, specializing in HP-UX and AIX. Upgraded, strengthened and extended the HP Dazel distributed print solution.

  • Pioneered targeted hardware-based monitoring scripts.
  • Developed web-based front-end to provide insight into and consistent management of the HP Dazel infrastructure.
