Summary

Hi, I'm Miranda. I'm a Seattle-based freelance copywriter, editor, and writing tutor/coach/consultant.

I have an M.A. in English Language and Literature, a Certificate in Teaching College Writing, a Professional Editing Certificate, multiple certificates in Business Writing, and additional relevant professional certifications, all of which are listed on my LinkedIn profile.

I have 10+ years of experience teaching college-level writing courses (specializing in persuasive writing/rhetoric) both in the classroom and online. I'm also a professional writing tutor/coach/consultant who works one-on-one with college/adult students.

My writing experience is extensive and diverse. I have written for a wide variety of websites, agencies, businesses, and clients. Examples of my published work are available at portfolio.mirandachale.co. I specialize in copywriting, particularly persuasive marketing copy. In doing so, I frequently make use of my knowledge of effective methods and techniques of persuasion gained from my academic research and from my experience teaching college-level persuasive writing courses.

I also have a great deal of editing experience, including copy editing, line editing, developmental editing, and proofreading. As a writing teacher/tutor, I undertake careful editing of the writing my students need assistance with. Additionally, I have completed many editing assignments for agencies, for businesses, for individuals, and for authors who need pre-publication editorial assistance with their book manuscripts.

More information about my experience, skills, education, and certifications is available on my LinkedIn profile and my professional writing/editing portfolio is at portfolio.mirandachale.co.

I am currently actively looking for full-time, freelance, and/or contract opportunities in fields including writing, content strategy, editing, and writing teaching/consulting. I am open to remote, hybrid, or on-site work. Thank you!

Freelance Writer and Editor

Copycrafting

I am an experienced freelance writer who has written and produced deliverables for various publications, websites, agencies, businesses, and individuals (see my LinkedIn profile for examples of clients I've worked with). My speciality is conversion copywriting and persuasive marketing copy. When crafting this content, I frequently make use of my knowledge of effective methods and techniques of persuasion gained from my academic research and from my experience teaching college-level persuasive writing courses.

In 2015, I started  Copycrafting, a one-person freelance writing and editing company, and since that time I have offered my freelancing services as a part of my business.

My professional writing/editing portfolio, including selected examples of my published work, is available at portfolio.mirandachale.co.

Online Writing Tutor/Consultant

Lessons With Miranda

Although I have worked as a writing tutor and as a Faculty Writing Mentor on and off for years, I have recently started my own part-time freelance writing tutor business, and I now offer writing assistance to my students/clients on a regular basis.

I provide online writing tutoring, coaching, and consulting to adults of all ages. I work with students/clients on academic writing, copywriting, business writing, or any other writing they need assistance with.

All of my tutoring/coaching/consulting experience, whether in the classroom or online, has involved one-on-one work with students/clients, either leading them through the writing process from beginning to end or helping them to revise what they've already written.

When working one-on-one with students/clients, I guide them through their writing assignments/projects, not only offering my knowledge and assistance in planning, crafting, and writing the work, but also providing them with relevant actionable steps, making sure they know exactly *why* their writing will benefit from specific additions, changes, and edits, and *how* these modifications can best be made, with the intent of helping students to develop or further enhance their own abilities as writers and as editors of their own writing.

I create individualized tutoring/coaching plans for each of my students/clients, determining the most effective way to assist each student/client, whether they regularly need assistance with specific assignments/projects or are working to achieve more extensive and in-depth learning objectives.

More information about the services I offer and the teaching/tutoring methodologies I employ can be found at my tutoring business website, Lessons With Miranda.
