  • In this position I am Solely responsible for providing in-house service and repair on linear accelerators (Linacs) and multi-leaf collimators' (MLCs) located throughout 5 company locations.

    (Linacs deliver radiation therapy to cancer patients, and MLCs are beam shaping devices for radio-therapy.)

  • Apply expert-level independent decision making and resourcefulness; timely perform all repairs on-demand during day and evening hours.
  • Manage and ensure peak operating performance of 5 linacs and 5 MLCs
  • Serve as in-house engineer, troubleshoot, repair, and provide preventive maintenance of all radiation therapy and MLC machines, with minimum downtime and costs.
  • Provide calibrations of these machines to meet federal safety standards, while working alongside the physicist.
  • Saved the company millions of dollars in costs of factory contracts and parts throughout 14-year tenure.
  • Negotiate with multiple vendors on supplies and parts.
