I have been a certified Project Management Professional since 2002.

I started my career in the R&D organization at Nortel.  My technical background gives me a deeper understanding during the engineering and configuration phases of projects.

I am detail oriented, focused on relationship building and like to be the "point person" leading a project.

I caught the running bug 5 years ago and have been running a few times a week ever since.  I ran my first marathon in 2008 in Frederick, MD, and I am training for the 2009 New York City Marathon - running with Team Run To Remember which is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association.

Israeli Dancing

I have enjoyed Israeli Dancing as a social, recreational and cultural activity since I was first introduced to it in college.  I have performed in Israeli Dance Troupes in Detroit, Dallas and in the Washington, DC area - and even made a guest appearance with the Parparim troupe in New York to perform at a special event at Shea Stadium!

I currently lead a weekly recreational Israeli Dance group at Ohr Kodesh Congregation and co-direct Yesodot - an Israeli Dance Troupe for Teens.

Project Manager


Managing telecom infrastructure installations and upgrades for CDMA carrier Verizon Wireless in the Carolinas, Central Texas and Southern California markets.

During these projects, I am responsible for building a project team, managing the project schedule, budget, scope, communications (both internally and as lead liaison with the customer) and the quality of work for the deployment.

I am currently working on expansions of CDMA switching offices and cell site upgrades in the Carolinas.

I recently completed a market rip-and-replace of 170 cell sites in East Texas.  I also completed a large number of carrier additions to the 3G EVDO data network in the Central Texas and Southern California markets and site reconfigurations for the next generation wireless data systems - LTE - in the Southern California market.

Project Manager - CDMA Wireless


Managed telecom infrastructure builds for CDMA carrier Cricket Communications.

During these projects, I am responsible for project schedule, budget, scope management, communications (both internally and as lead liaison with the customer) and the quality of work for the deployment.

Major Projects included:

  • Greenfield deployment for the Cricket Communications Baltimore/Washington market - two switch sites and over 600 cell sites - which spanned 19 months
  • EVDO expansion for the Cricket Communications Carolinas market for over 200 cell sites of an on-the-air network

The Americas Wireless Operations Business Center tracks, reports and investigates key Supply Chain metrics for the Customer Operations Leaders and the Americas Wireless Supply Chain management team.  My responsibilities included:

  • Managing group workload, delegating activities across the group, ensuring that level of work produced by team members is of sufficient quality and contributing to the performance evaluation process for team members
  • Mentoring team members to assist in their development of analytical skills and to improve productivity
  • Creating the process for reporting product performance and job cost efficiency metrics
  • Investigating areas where metrics are below target and driving improvements within the organization
  • Creating reports and presentations for Operations reviews on a customer account and technology level
  • Automated spreadsheet tools to assist in metrics analysis and reporting
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects in the Operations organization when Project Management expertise is needed

The Americas Project Office organization owned the processes, tools and metrics for the Americas Project Management organization.  My responsibilities and achievements as the New Product Introduction (NPI) prime included:

  • Created process and tools for the Americas Project Management organization for projects involving new products being deployed for the first time
  • Trained over 250 Project Managers across North, Central and South Americas
  • Participated in cross-functional teams to ensure New Product Introduction processes were aligned

Expatriate Project Manager


I was the lead Project Manager for a multinational software project, subcontracting Telrad Networks - an Israeli company - to migrate software into the Nortel software stream.

  • Expatriate position in Israel; on-site at subcontractor facility
  • Successful coordination between Telrad Networks (subcontractor in Israel) and multiple Nortel organizations in Israel and UK
  • Introduced scope management process to reduce “scope creep”
  • Successfully managed the budget of the $24M project; negotiated areas to reduce costs by 20%Introduced Nortel standard processes into the newly formed Nortel Networks Israel
  • Project completed on schedule, under budget and within quality guidelines

Customer Account Representative - Teligent Account


I was a part of the Teligent Customer Service Team which was responsible for post sales support of Nortel products to Teligent, a CLEC focused on implementing a nationwide network utilizing the Local Multipoint Distribution System (LMDS) technology.  My responsibilities and achievements included:

  • Ensuring that Nortel Networks equipment in Teligent's network achieved 99.99% availability
    • Developed network availability measurement and reporting process with Teligent
    • Prepared availability updates for executives highlighting key issues and driving resolution
  • Improved customer relations with Teligent's operations and RF engineering directors and managers
  • Created and compiled a Nortel Customer Satisfaction Report Card for Teligent

Manager, UCS and DMS-250 Capacity Planning


The UCS and DMS-500 Capacity Planning group was responsible for analyzing the capacity and real time performance of the DMS-250 and DMS-500 Long Distance Switches.  My responsibilities and achievements as manager included:

  • Developed and presented capacity and performance presentations to Interexchange Carriers
  • Provided expertise to AT&T on DMS capacity and performance issues which helped contribute to their purchase of DMS switches
  • Produced two year forecasting roadmaps for WorldCom and Qwest Engineering groups to predict switch capacity exhaust based on software and feature deployment and traffic growth
  • Educated marketing and sales teams on areas that impact capacity which contributed to a reduction in post-sales capacity issues and infeasible customer commitments
  • Developed group goals and vision; Set individual objectives and conducted performance evaluations
  • Promoted 2 employees to Senior MSS; terminated one employee as a result of poor performance
  • Negotiated and secured funding for the group on a yearly basis; interviewed and hired new employees
  • Received General Manager Award for work on AT&T bid

My initial jobs at Nortel / BNR were as a Member of Scientific Staff for the UCS (DMS-250) Software Design organization and the DMS-250/DMS-500 Capacity and Performance Analysis organization.  Some of my activities during these years included:

  • Analyzing capacity impacts due to features and provisioning and recommending improvements
  • Studying system limits and bottlenecks of the DMS-250 switching system
  • Designing tools on UNIX and PC/Mac environments to parse and analyze switch data
  • Call processing knowledge including CCS7 and ISDN protocols
  • PROTEL software language, DMS Switch Operating System (SOS) and base DMS knowledge
  • Investigating and sizing potential features; approving software code and packaging changes
