        Making sure there were taxi's in the lot.

        Being a go between for drivers needing something delivered during the day.

        Providing guests with tourist information.

Field Starter

Mears Destination Services

    This position had a wide variety of responsibilities:

      Supervisory:   

 I oversaw 12-15 drivers on a daily basis, assuring adherence to company policy in reference to: uniforms, signage, safety and punctuality. I would also assist the Field Manager on contract moves, arranging the waiting motor coaches so as not to obstruct the regularly scheduled transports prior to the Field Manager's arrival.

    Customer Service:

    I assisted guests leaving Orlando Theme parks (Disney, Sea World and Universal) in finding their rides back to their hotels. This required knowledge of  schedules and pick-up times for ALL companies that provided transportation from my posted location.

  I provided information on tourist interests upon request. Ihad to know about dinner theaters, airboat rides, special events, opening and closing times for various parks.

  I sold vouchers for future trips and informed passengers about company policies for arranging to be picked up.

    Misc.

    As the only uniformed presence in the parking lot, I was unofficial security especially at late night closings.

    Having an 11 passenger van, I was able to provide shelter during inclement weather.
