Summary

During more than a decade with the Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University,  Professor Mike Alleyne has published numerous academic articles on popular music. He is the author of The Encyclopedia of Reggae: The Golden Age of Roots Reggae (2012) and the contributing editor of Rhythm Revolution (2013). A PhD graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mike Alleyne has also taught classes on popular music in Germany, England, and Sweden. In 2005, he was the Distinguished Cultural Studies Lecturer & Scholar-in-Residence at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. A former broadcaster, Mike Alleyne is a writer member of the performing rights societies, ASCAP and PRS.
