I am interested in a number of life style topics, which relate to aging well, such as neuroplasticity and neurogenesis, spirituality, social media, and I volunteer at the Winnebago Public Library, where I get to be of service. I enjoy working out, and researching brain fitness information. I have a special spot in my heart for addictions and addiction related information.
I help small and medium businesses plan for and implement those plans on social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, and Google+, among others.
I teach an Adult Continuing Education class at Rock Valley College called Start Up Social Media, which is a four session introductory class designed for small businesses searching for some Social Media guidance.
I also help clients implement classified ad programs and I have built a number of Word Press blogs, and published several short e-books and placed them for sale on Amazon.
I have written press releases, and utilized press release services, and have learned to implement Search Engine Optimization for blog entries and web pages.
I have developed a number of Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Pinterest boards, Youtube channels (with over 200 videos), a very active Linkedin presence, and I use Hootsuite to update them and to drive traffic to affiliate offers. I have four WP blogs that I built and write content for, besides my counseling website. I am adding a virtual assistant component to my Social Media packages.
I have published four small kindle books, and they generate royalties.
I have a Blog Talk Radio Channel, and love to do interviews.
I began building an SBI website in the spring of 2005, called http://www.askmikethecounselor2.com, which has grown into 900 pages of counseling information, written by me and many readers.
I have generated income from Google adsense, affiliate programs, and the sale of advertising, and I was one of the first 20 folks chosen to teach the SBI online and offline version of Building a Successful Business Using the Internet, which I taught at Rock Valley College.
A significant portion of the pages refer to something called brain fitness, the laymen's term for neuroplasticity and neurogenesis. Neurogenesis is the term used to describe the brain's ability to grow new neurons daily, and neuroplasticity is the term used to describe the brain's ability to form new connections when learning occurs, sometimes within minutes.
Neurogenesis and neuroplasticity can be supported and even enhanced by basic lifestyle changes.
