San Francisco Attorney Michael Papuc possesses more than two decades of legal experience. He currently owns and operates the Law Office of Michael Papuc, a firm he established in 1995. Earlier this year, he won an appeal within the California Court of Appeal that continued a charging order against a prior partner in a successor corporation’s interest. Attorney Papuc’s success in this recent case represents an unprecedented turn in California appellate decision making and a change in case law, because a charging order against a partnership interest has never before on record been continued against a corporate interest.
Michael Papuc's litigation practices emphasizes insurance bad faith, mechanics' liens and collection matters, bankruptcy, employment discrimination and harassment, trade secret litigation, noncompetition agreements, severe personal injury, among other areas.Earlier in his professional development, Michael Papuc served as the attorney for San Francisco Opera singer Alexandra Nehra in a claim against the opera company for the use of chemical fog in productions. Before launching his own law firm in the mid-1990s, he spent more than half a decade as a litigation attorney for the firm of Thornton, Taylor & Downs. At the onset of his career in law, Papuc worked for Kornblum, Kelly, & Herlihy, a San Francisco-based firm. In this early position, he successfully litigated a range of bad faith insurance defense cases, achieving myriad favorable settlements for his clients.Michael Papuc concluded his undergraduate work in mathematics and economics at Brooklyn College, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1984. Papuc subsequently completed his legal education at the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
