  • Lead a multi-discipline team of 3 engineers and a draftsman that was responsible for design and maintenance of custom equipment to support customers and in-house production requirements.

  • Lead a team of 7 engineers and designers that was responsible for all optical encoder and joystick products.
  • Took part in strategic planning sessions with upper management and ownership and presented proposals for optical encoder products and strategies.
  • Traveled to the company's Shenzhen China facility to setup production lines and worked closely with the Shenzhen team to ensure work instructions were clear and employees were properly trained.
  • Successfully converted several encoder families from in-house wire bonded optics to off the shelf SMT packages saving the company over $220,000 annually and opened up the opportunity to outsourcing printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Served as the project leader for automotive business, which involved application specific product design, close collaboration with customers and Grayhill's distributor in Germany, and working closely with production sites to ensure the lines met automotive standards.
  • Developed pricing structures for new products based on piece part price and labor projections to assist the sales department in negotiations.
