I am a web developer living in beautiful Vancouver. My primary focus has been with Node, Ruby, and PHP. Personal interests include fiction writing, moderate to fine tequilas, console video games, baking, (half-)marathon running, and constantly messing around with app development.

Ongoing development and upkeep on a large collection of localized international websites managing high-end luxury hotel bookings.

The site is constructed in PHP using Symfony, with some additional components in Node, Ruby, and Angular. Heavily involved in the devops team, touching on Ansible, Jenkins, many different aspects of AWS (Route53, VPC, EC2, etc), switched from Grunt to Gulp, and more. Contributed to a very substantial styling and redesign of the entire site (still in progress).

Helping students learn the fundamentals of web development, with a primary focus on HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby.

Mostly assisted students with code issues, troubleshooting, and helping them to pick up a diverse variety of frameworks that are new to them. Each day is a new adventure, as the requirements of the course develops, and student projects change week to week.

Lighthouse Labs is an accelerated web development bootcamp, which installs all of the skills necessary to pursue a career as a junior full-stack web developer. This intensive 8-week course requires a minimum commitment of 60 hours per week, and drills down to a professional grasp of not only the languages (Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, etc), but also of project management best practices.
