Silicon Valley entrepreneur Michael Fertik was born and raised in New York, where he attended the Horace Mann School. Michael Fertik participated in talented youth programs during the summers through The Johns Hopkins University. After graduation, Michael Fertik gained admission to Harvard University, where he studied History and Literature.
Inspired by the innovative Cambridge environment, Michael Fertik established two companies during and shortly after completing the requirements for his Bachelor of Arts. He raised $7 million in support of TruExchange Inc., which he established in 1999. Michael Fertik's team engineered customized real-time trading and matching engine software and created the ability for TruExchange Inc. to supply expandable, functional marketplaces to its clients.
In 2002, Michael Fertik entered Harvard Law School, where he pursued an interest in Constitutional and Internet law and developed his conceptions of online privacy and reputation management. Upon earning his Juris Doctor, Michael Fertik served as a clerk under Chief Judge Daniel Boggs of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals until founding his newest company, Reputation.com. Over the course of several years, Michael Fertik has developed Reputation.com into the leading online reputation and privacy management company. Michael Fertik empowers clients to safeguard and control the access of third parties to their personal information. Recently, Reputation.com was honored as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer for 2011, an honor given to only 30 other people in the world.
In addition to serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Reputation.com, Michael Fertik also sits on the Internet Keep Safe Coalition’s Advisory Board. Michael Fertik is also active in the political arena as the founder and Chairman of the Campaign for a National Majority, which actively engages young professionals around the country in current politics. Most recently Michael Fertik was named as a member on the World Economic Forum global Agenda Council for Internet Security.
