Throughout his career, Dr. Michael Ajemian has demonstrated excellence in all of his endeavors. When he earned his B.S. in Forest Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, he graduated magna cum laude. Similarly, Dr. Michael Ajemian was at the top of his class upon graduating from Eastern Virginia Medical School with his M.D. in 1993, after which he continued to accrue honors. After beginning his position as Associate Director of Surgery at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, he won major awards at the Scientific and Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and at the Annual Waterbury Research Day. In 2006 and 2008, Dr. Michael Ajemian received teaching awards from the surgical residents at Saint Mary’s, where he currently directs the Surgery and Trauma, Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery programs.In addition to his duties as a surgeon and member of several committees at Saint Mary’s, including the Graduate Medical Education Committee, General Surgery Section Committee, and Operating Room Committee, Dr. Michael Ajemian teaches surgical techniques as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. Moreover, he holds clinical professorships at St. George’s University, Saba University, and the American University of the Caribbean.Dr. Michael Ajemian’s charitable activities are oriented toward his profession. Even as an undergraduate, he was concerned with health matters and chaired the campus’ blood drive. Once in practice in Waterbury, he routinely ran surgical clinics for the indigent. When he finds time away from his busy schedule, Dr. Michael Ajemian enjoys a round or two of golf.
