While studying Instructional Design and Development, collaboratively designing, developing and delivering an online training environment as a real-world project for the Virginia Department of Education, T/TAC Online.Gaining competence in facilitating effective communication with programmers, end-users and clients who support the online initiative.

Delivered awareness presentations, training and adoption leadership to support the Department of State Information and Resource Management SMART outreach initiative. Partnered in the campaign to promote and transition into the new and improved collaboration application tools (Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint), which includes change management, adoption of the new system, as well as training.Participated in application usability testing prior to piloting and world wide deployment.Effectively managed training by building strong alliances with FSI (Foreign Service Institute) to transfer general user and systems administrator training responsibilities, business rules and best practices.

  • Ensured the data in the SMART website was current and user friendly.
  • Devised plan to recreate and transfer existing data from Portal-X to a SharePoint website.

Design and test application training to fit individual learning styles and unique end-user needs. Write quarterly financial reports, and develop needs based plans for project continuation. Effectively manage projects by building strong alliances with client contractor and government personnel while tracking needs, trends, and project mandates.

    Key Achievements:

  • Charged with engagement controller duties such as budget administration and analysis through monthly workbook and time sheet reconciliation, submitting invoices and status reports, and configuring and presenting yearly budget projections.
  • Devised internal marketing strategies to elicit and enhance personnel application usage, leading to significant increases despite system challenges. 
  • Designed and implemented Livelink workflow diagrams and business process templates while developing detailed, comprehensive tip sheets and manuals facilitating user training.

I am currently pursuing a Masters in Education in Instructional Design and Development with an emphasis on Technology. This program allows me to immerse in a project based experience where I utilize and develop group management and collaboration skills, instructional design and development skills as well as project management skills.  Because this educational experience is based on authentic learning, our group prepares and presents assignments as final deliverables to our clients.
