Regional Health and Safety Manager for the Southeast Region, implements the corporate health and safety program on environmental, remediation, and construction projects, reducing Work related Injuries and Illnesses and associated costs and ensuring effective HS&E program visibility and leadership within region.Conducts audits of projects and provides oversight to field personnel.Reviews health and safety qualifications of subcontractors.Serves as Competent Person in specialized health and safety areas including crane operations, scaffolds, and excavation.Develops and presents OSHA, DOT, and EPA required training including 29 CFR 1910.120 courses.Oversaw the H&S aspects of the company-wide response to hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. Music - plays guitar, mandolin, steel guitar, and oud. Currently performs on the Atlanta club scene. Has composed and recorded several cds of original music and has been profiled and interviewed in numerous national and regional publications. He is also an avid collector of vintage and custom made instruments.
Martial Arts - has studied Judo, Ju Jitsu, Hapkido, Aikido, Tai Chi, Tai Kwon Do, and Shuri-ryu Karate. Competed regionally in Judo and attained the rank of Nidan (second degree black belt).
Travel - has travelled extensively. Recent trips include Peru, Nepal, Tanzania, Thailand and New Zealand. Work travel has taken him throughout the United States, Canada and the Carribean.
Buddhism - has been active in the Atlanta Zen Buddhist community for over a decade and is a Ordained Priest of the Soto Zen lineage and Monk of the Order of Silent Thunder.
Writing - is an avid and enthusiastic reader of a wide variety material. Has recently published his first work of fiction. Has published numerous articles on music, writers and musicians.
