Since August 2012 Markus A. Eugster is Chief Underwriting Officer of Catlin Re Switzerland in Zurich after having started with the company in 2010 as Underwriting Director. Prior to joining Catlin Mr. Eugster was Principal of MA Eugster Consulting and had advisory mandates with UK based Channel Capital and Netherlands based Atradius. Previously, he held various senior positions with  Swiss Re between 1998 and 2008, most recently as Managing Director and Global Head of Bank Reltionship Mgmt. Prior to joining Swiss Re in 1998, he worked in commercial banking Latin America with Credit Suisse and moved from there to CSFB's Latin American structured trade finance & advisory team in New York. Mr. Eugster began his professional career in 1991 as research fellow sponsored by a Swiss National Foundation scholarship and conducted field research projects in Brazil and Europe. He holds a PhD (magna cum laude) in International Affairs and Governance from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland.
