Some people say that friends should never work together. We think otherwise. Cristina and Meredith met on the playground in first grade when Cristina got stung by a bee while doing a cartwheel and Meredith was sent to accompany her to the nurse's office. Through high school, college, as roommates in New York, and then at Harvard Business School (and even through a few more minor injuries — yes, they are klutzy) Meredith and Cristina have remained the best of friends.
An avid (some might say obsessive) shopper and a former editor at Lucky magazine, Meredith can sniff out the best boutiques anywhere. Pre Store Adore (and much to the dismay of her fiancé Daniel) she'd plan their vacations by crafting a careful list of every store she wanted to check out in a given city and then diligently visiting each one. Store Adore was inspired by Meredith's frustration with the fact that these lists were so hard to compile: Every time she wanted to find the cream of the shopping crop in a given city, she had to do a lot of heavy lifting, spending time emailing friends, searching online, poring through magazines, and reading city guidebooks. Once she made her list and checked out the stores, she would add her own comments and send it to friends so that they wouldn't have to go through the same time-consuming store-finding process that she had experienced. Friends began to pass these guides around and people she barely knew started to email her to ask for updated versions. Sensing a strong demand for a better shopping resource, she hatched the idea for Store Adore.
