Support Worker

Order Of St Johns Care Trust
I currently work in Hayward House, a care home for elderly people with dementia, residential and is now progressing on to nursing within the home. In this job i am responsible for giving the best quality of care and support to a resident in their home. My key duties include assisting with personal care, washing and bathing, administration of medication, preparation for meal times and social activities.

 Duties

  • Maintaining the comfort and dignity of residents at all times
  • Supporting the work of qualified professionals
  • Promoting independant living
  • Safeguard of residents and their belongings
  • Getting to know the residents, their individual needs and interests
  • Helping residents with personal care such as wash and dress, using the toilet and assisting with food
  • Administration of medication and filling in the Mar sheets correctly
  • Filling in the residents care plans to the best of my ability and updating them regularly

    For my work experience i worked at a private nursery in Kington Langley which entailed reading them books, doing arts and crafts, supervised during break/lunchtime and helped with their education including letters and numbers.
