Melissa Schwarzschild, MD, remains actively involved in the medical and health community in Richmond, Virginia. As a dermatologist, Dr. Schwarzschild treats and diagnoses patients with a variety of different skin conditions, and she contributes to several health publications and newspapers by offering preventative tips for self-examination and self-assessment. In addition to serving patients, Dr. Melissa Schwarzschild holds membership in the American Academy of Dermatology and has twice presented research and case studies at its annual meeting for the Gross & Microscopic Symposium.Today, Dr. Melissa Schwarzschild is a practicing dermatologist and partner at Richmond Dermatology & Laser Specialists. Along with her colleagues, Dr. Schwarzschild assists patients using cosmetic dermatology procedures, including laser and dermatologic surgery. She performs skin cancer screenings and performs skin cancer surgery. She treats many types of skin disorders, including eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne; she can also address age-related skin changes. Outside the practice, Dr. Melissa Schwarzschild is often featured in The Health Journal, a publication on wellness and health serving Richmond and the surrounding Tidewater area. The Chicago Tribune , the Montreal Gazette, the Orlando Sentinel and USA Today have also interviewed her. Before joining Richmond Dermatology Specialists, Dr. Melissa Schwarzschild served as Chief Resident of dermatology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center. She completed both her residency and internship at VCU Medical Center and attended medical school at the VCU School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Prior to earning her MD, she received her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Richmond.
