Before becoming an environmental engineering, public health, and sustainability consultant, Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian earned a bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering, a masters in public health (MPH), and a doctor of philosophy in environmental epidemiology. Since completing his studies, Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian has become a registered professional civil engineer in California and secured LEED GA certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. He also holds multiple patents for a vapor energy generator (VEG) technology used for thermal treatment of chemical contamination, enhanced oil recovery, and conversion of waste to energy.
For more than 24 years, Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian has worked as an environmental health consultant for a number of organizations, such as the California Department of Public Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. He has managed multimillion-dollar projects, supervised environmental remediation initiatives worth $350 million, and conducted more than 150 toxicological health risk assessments at hazardous waste facilities.
Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian currently serves LRM Consulting, Inc., as the president and technical director of remediation services for private sector projects, a position that allows him to focus on chemical contamination assessments and the implementation of remediation solutions for surface and subsurface systems. As a remediation consultant, he has worked with PG&E, the U.S Air Force, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, among many other clients. He provides similar services to the federal sector as a consultant Endpoint Consulting, Inc., and assists with the development of multiple patented sustainable technologies.
In addition to his consulting work, Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian conducts research on sustainable remediation solutions and contributes to various professional publications, including Environmental Public Health Today. He holds more than four patents related to generation and use of vapor energy, used successfully in thermal treatment of soil contaminants and other wastes.
