I have dedicated my academics and my work experience to improving my ability to help marginalized young people and their families. As a counsellor, I have had the privilege to help individuals to deal with issues related to gender and sexuality, disability support and advocacy, abuse and sexual exploitation, intimate partner violence, trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, and substance use.

As a student affairs professional, I assisted new, mature, first generation, and international students,  and their families, and worked to create a campus environment that is inclusive and embraces diversity, with a specific focus on gender and sexuality. I have always found it rewarding to work with marginalized individuals, from a perspective of empowerment and honouring resiliency. Warmth, respect and openness to learning from the perspectives and experiences of others are hallmarks of my professional practice.

In my ongoing work experience and in my free time, I continue to seek opportunities to further these competencies and best serve individuals in need of support and advocacy.
