Freelance Writer & Media Relations Agent
With ten years experience operating my own freelance writing business, I write well-crafted articles on any topic - specializing in business and health stories, Sunday newspaper features and magazine articles focused on arts, lifestyle and human interest matters. I work closely with various editors to generate story ideas; meet style, content and space needs; set strict deadlines; and best serve a range of readers.
While my primary writing clients are newspapers and magazines, I also offer PR and media relations services to business clients, mostly small specialty companies and entrepreneurs in the form of press releases, brochure copy and ads.
I am successful in establishing and maintaining very productive and mutually beneficial working relationships with all my clients both in person and via technology.

As a staff writer and editor for this national U.S. weekly entertainment magazine, I researched assignments, summarized various entertainment media, interviewed celebrities (and others) involved in the television and film industries and wrote copy for every issue during my tenure.
I was chosen to assist with coordination of special issues and projects (in conjunction with the New York and Los Angeles offices) and covered a beat that included television networks, such as E! and Lifetime, as well as individual programs, including “Will & Grace” and “The X-Files.”

The Reading Eagle
As a reporter, I covered a range of news including local police and crime, politics and municipal government for this metro daily paper with a circulation of about 65,000 in southeastern Pennsylvania (about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia). I created and maintained a network of press contacts, adhered to all deadlines and style guidelines, participated in editorial brainstorming sessions and followed ongoing stories on my beat.
I also wrote for the entertainment section of the Sunday edition, mostly local and national rock music stories. This work often involved interviewing celebrity acts, such as The Black Crows, Richie Havens, The Gin Blossoms, Cheap Trick and Faith No More.
