Project Goals:

  • To facilitate the study of African languages
  • Develop software tools that would facilitate better study of African Languages
  • Engage in mass media studies focusing on African languages in major print and visual media
  • Machine translate African languages

My Duties During my Stay with the Project

Team Leader Web Design Team

  • Maintain and update Project Websites
  • Develop content for the site during conferences and workshops
  • Member of the Software Development team developing the Sentence Diagramming Software
  • Help organize conferences and workshops

Software Development Team member

  • Participate in designing and developing Oracle database
  • Create GUI page for other project members to help populate database with Swahili and English words
  • Participate in developing the sentence diagramming software
  • Participate in unit testing of sentence diagramming software against our database
