Education

Career Bio:

Md. Rajibul Islam was born in a small town in the northern part of Bangladesh. He is pursuing his Ph.D. inPhotonics at the Photonics Research Centre, University of Malaya. Besides, Rajibul is currently working as a Visiting Ph.D. Researcher at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Prior to this, he worked as Research Assistant at the Photonics Research CentreUniversity of MalayaSoftware Engineer at London English Academy (LEA), Research Assistant (RA) in the R&D at Clarify Consulting Sdn Bhd., and Research Assistant at the Ibnu Sina Institute for Fundamental Science Studies, University Technology Malaysia (UTM). He received his M.Sc in IT (Image Processing: Biometrics) from Multimedia University, Malaysia (MMU) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, India, in 2010 and 2004, respectively. His research interests include optical fiber sensors, fiber grating, few-mode fiber grating, fiber optic chemical sensors and biosensors, acousto-optic sensors, fiber optic vibration sensors, and structure health monitoring. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals and conferences together with books and book chapters. Rajibul volunteers as a reviewer of several international journals and he is also a regular scientific committee member of several international conferences. He is a member of IAEng, IACSITASTRC-I, MIR Labs and a student member of the Optical Society of America (OSA).
