Colleague and Executive Assistant

Bethany House of Prayer

Currently, assist in programming and development at a spiritual retreat center that is expanding its services. Facilitate retreats and groups for spiritual development, self care and team cohesion. Created curriculum and co-led group for mothers that used elements of mindfulness and contemplative practice. In addition, manage both office needs and facility use by outside groups, as well as offer hospitality to individual and group retreats.

Work and Family Researchers Network (formerly the Sloan Network)

Contributed to the work and family research field through analysis of public policies that affect working families. Maintained a bills and statutes database on policies such as paid sick leave, marital status discrimination, dependent care, and family leave. Produced and published policy briefs and other products for state legislators on these issues. Wrote press releases for networking and collaboration. Promoted to Research Associate and managed the Network's Literature Database and social networks. Contributed to both the Sloan Network and Huffington Post blogs.

Private Practice

Provided psycho-therapeutic services to women, children and families. Specialties included perinatal mental health, child and spiritual development, and trauma. Used modalities consistent with best practice and training (i.e. cognitive-behavioral, EMDR and solution focused therapies). Responsible for maintaining successful relationship with third party payers, referral sources and peer supervision group. Founded and co-lead a support group for women and their infants dealing with postpartum mood disorders.

Community Counseling Center

Provided individual, couples and family therapy to men, women and children through a community-counseling agency. Continued education and experience in trauma work by completing EMDR – part II training. Participated in EMDR consultation in addition to required supervision. Planned a six-week perinatal education class for women pregnant and at risk for a mood disorder that was approved for the agency’s Education for Living program.
