I am an accomplished Information Technology Executive who has enjoyed a progressive career with companies suchas American Express, Group Health Inc. and Emerging Health IT.  I have significant experience in technical team leadership, managing client and vendor relationships and problem resolution.  I've excelled at building cohesive and efficient teams across varied IT functions including, network operations, support services and project implementation services with emphasis on quality/process improvement aimed at meeting corporate goals and satisfying customer driven requirements.  I bridge the gaps between technology and business requirements generating cost savings and avoidance while providing significant improvement in systems and network performance.  Increasing responsibilities in these areas led to the development of communication, organization and negotiating skills as well as interpersonal relationships with client groups and senior executives. 

Organizational and Process Improvement

Enhanced and improved organizational effectiveness through reorganization of functional reporting relationships and recruiting higher level skills as openings occurred.Established new processes that reduced Help Desk callback times by 50%, Service Request turnaround reduced by 20 days and established standard maintenance and back up intervals for all systems (voice and data).

Project Implementations

Successfully refocused the efforts of the Project Implementation Team responsible for the facilities build out and network infrastructure implementation relative to the deployment of a $16M Radiological Image Archiving System.All of the initial deadlines were met and the ‘go live’ was highly successful.

Analysis/Problem Solving

Performed analysis of the corporate voice and data networks and identified issues with regard to its readiness to support company wide objectives.Presented findings to senior management, secured funding for necessary upgrades, new technologies were infused and reduced annual expenses by $500K.These infrastructure enhancements provided for the successful installation of new business systems in accordance with the company’s business plan.

American Express TRS, Inc.

The company is a global leader in charge cards, payment systems, financial and travel services.

Full leadership responsibility for an organization of up to 95 FTEs that included managerial, technical, financial, administrative and outsourced staff in support of Corporate Headquarters, home offices and other regional facilities.Responsible for systems and networks, cost reductions and customer satisfaction.Managed an annual budget in excess of $10MM.

Challenges: Shutting down a Card Operations center that also housed the Eastern Region Network Control Center and moving that to a new facility being built in the headquarters building.As part of that move staff had to be redeployed and laid off.Had the additional responsibility of supporting senior executives, not only in the office but in their home offices as well.

Director - Telecommunications & Distributed Systems Support

Group Health Inc.

GHI is the largest not-for-profit health insurance company in New York State, offering a full range of medical, hospital, dental, mental health, vision and prescription drug plans.

Managed an organization of up to 30 FTEs responsible for providing voice and data network engineering and support, desktop system implementation/support, Help Desk services as well as enterprise wide distributed systems support.Direct responsibility and accountability for a budget that exceeded $2.5MM.

Challenges:Inherited a staff with low moral, lacking advanced technical skills and several unfilled open positions.The Corporate network was performing poorly and there were several rapidly approaching business systems that would require a stable network environment to perform as anticipated.GHI was traditionally frugal with its IT expenditures and obtaining funding for network upgrades was not going to be easy.

Emerging Health Information Technology LLP

Subsidiary of Montefiore Medical Center formed as an IT profit center to provide hospitals and medical centers with affordable access to IT solutions enabling them to meet their strategic and financial goals. 

Provide leadership and direction to the teams responsible for Server Services/Support and Project Implementation consisting of 31 FTEs with early responsibility for the management of the Network Engineering team.These organizations protect the technology investment of and apply cost effective technology solutions as required to satisfy the needs of Emerging Health customers.Project budgets ranged in size up to $16MM.

Challenge: Emerging Health was transitioning from a traditional IT organization supporting its parent to a for profit professional services company supporting an external customer base.Continue to meet and satisfy the increasing service demands of Montefiore while at the same time fulfilling contractual agreements with an expanding customer base.
