Vice President, Client Markets July 2007 – June 2008

iStar Financial, Los Angeles, CA – A $14 billion real estate investment trust based in New York that purchased the Commercial Real Estate Division of Fremont Investment & Loan.

Collaborated with senior management and McKinsey & Company consultants on the integration activities associated with iStar Financial’s acquisition of Fremont Investment & Loan’s Commercial Real Estate Division. Created a new employee handbook for the expanded company, working with the human resources team. Led internal communications and business development efforts related to collateral materials, conference participation and client entertainment. Created advertising and marketing plan and budget for iStar for 2008 and 2009. Participated in investor relations activities such as annual report and the company’s annual investor day. Planned for advertising and marketing for iStar Europe. Consulted with the company’s AutoStar division, working on conference participation and special event planning for the 2008 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) conference as well as providing consulting for public relations activities, web site development, advertising and customer outreach. Continued to provide consultant support to iStar’s investor relations and marketing team following departure from the company in June 2008.

Vice President, Marketing and Advertising November 2003 – June 2007

Fremont Investment & Loan, Commercial Real Estate Division, Santa Monica, CA – An $11 billion California-based industrial bank. Fremont’s commercial real estate division provided custom-tailored financing to innovative urban commercial real estate developers, starting at $20 million.

Responsible for the marketing campaign that supported growth from $2.5 billion in annual commercial real estate loan originations in 2003 to $7 billion in 2007. Planned and implemented a High Quality Borrower campaign garnering increasingly excellent clients and more high profile commercial real estate projects in markets nationwide. Supervised a team of four marketing professionals and consultants, delivered an annual marketing plan budgeted at $3 million that supported 10 major urban markets across the United States, stretching from Hawaii to New York. Supervised all marketing support activities such as web site, brochure materials, newsletter, announcements, advertisements, press releases, articles, special events, conference participation and speaking engagements. The reputation of the Commercial Real Estate Division resulted in the quick sale to iStar Financial, among competitors, when Fremont put the division up for sale in the Spring of 2007.

Perkowitz + Ruth Architects, Long Beach, CA – The 2nd largest architecture firm based in Los Angeles County, with five offices nationwide and a highly respected, award-winning urban design studio, Studio-111.

Created a comprehensive marketing, advertising, special events and public relations program that built the architecture firm’s reputation and facilitated client relationships, helping the firm to become known for high quality design projects as well as to grow from a smaller architecture firm to its current position of 2nd largest in Los Angeles County. Responsible for delivering the firm’s response to request for proposal, diversifying the types of projects awarded to the firm.
