Micros 3700/CS Gold
CS Gold is the campus ID software and the Micros 3700 is the point of sale configuration software currently used at UW-La Crosse.  This software was implemented in the summer of 2011.  As a part of this implementation, I was involved in learning the back of house operations of the POS system and configuring it to the needs of the Recreational Eagle Center.  I was also involved in training REC staff members on how to use the new point of sale system itself.
MetaStock is a trading analysis program designed for technical analysts.  I have used MetaStock in order to conduct my research in building an investment portfolio using the principles of relative strength.  I have written basic formulas using MetaStock's formula language in order to complete my research.  Since I have only been recently introduced to MetaStock, my knowledge of the program is continually expanding as my knowledge of technical analysis itself grows.
EMS Professional (Event Management System)
EMS Professional is an event management solution designed to assist in the tracking and management of room reservations within a facility.  As an office assistant in the UW-L Recreational Sports department, it is my responsibility to coordinate with various campus organizations in order to meet the organization's room reservation needs.  EMS has taught me the importance of organization and time management, as delays in processing reservations can cause delays in the plans of campus organizations.  EMS has also helped in developing my written communication skills, as EMS has required me to contact various organization leaders and communicate to the them when certain rooms are available for use.
Camtasia Studio
Camtasia Software can be very useful to record PowerPoints or particular websites in order to create easy to use training demos.  The benefit to Camtasia is that is allows you to easily edit recordings in order to bring focus to important points of your presentation.  I have recorded many demonstrations through Camtasia and have found it to be a very useful tool in presenting information.

Request for Additional Spreadsheets

Other spreadsheets that represent my skills in Excel are available by request.  These additional spreadsheets cannot be uploaded to VisualCV due to the fact that they are macro enabled workbooks.  These spreadsheets will show my competency in writing basic Visual Basic formulas and simple loops.

I am currently finishing my double major in accounting and finance at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.  My areas of focus have been in financial modeling and investments (specifically technical analysis).  Outside of class, I have also focused on building excellent communication skills by becoming involved in various activities on campus and in the community.  Examples of this include:

  • Helping to create a new customer service program at the UW-L Recreational Eagle Center
  • Acting in the La Crosse Community Theatre's  production of West Side Story
  • Becoming involved in leadership opportunities in residence hall governance

I am also currently preparing an oral presentation on my undergraduate research that will be presented at UW-La Crosse's 2012 Celebration of Student Research and Creativity.

Coworker Feedback Regarding Presentations

"The BEST presentation was very well put together and I think that the limited amount of time that Bo spent on the slides was good in that it provided ample time for discussion at the end.

I also thought that Matt did very well with facilitating the follow-up conversation. They were both well prepared and knew their stuff but weren't afraid to talk about the weaknesses that are

inherent with a new program like BEST."

"Good flow to the presentation. Gave staff a good base of knowledge for what is going on."

"This was excellent. The group that presented this did a great job explaining their expectations and what the rec wants to improve on."
