Prior to his graduate education in Sustainable Development focusing on Energy and Resources from Utrecht University, Matthew Hinterlong worked as a contractor for the US military in various operations throughout the Middle East. His duties as a senior cost specialist involved maintaining oversight of site development and multimillion-dollar budgets. After graduating in 2010, Matthew Hinterlong utilized his background to start his own renewable energy development business, Transatlantic Renewables.
In his current position as a staff scientist for Environmental Health and Engineering, Mr. Hinterlong is involved in several healthcare and commercial projects throughout Massachusetts and Ohio. He regularly conducts data analysis and manages 23 remote air quality monitoring stations.
Matthew Hinterlong grew up in Texas and enjoys outdoor grilling and the Dallas Cowboys. He is also a recreational skier and bicyclist, as well as a member of regional soccer and tennis leagues. Fluent in both English and Dutch, he has traveled extensively throughout the Netherlands and other locations in Europe and around the world.
