I've been involved with small businesses throughout New Zealand and have a wide range of experience dealing with all the multiple different things that can go wrong … and right!

My peers and clients know me as someone they can trust and who does what he says he will do and it’s important to me that I live up to that expectation.

In this role I oversaw all aspects of the business operations of Hobby Co, New Zealand’s leading national distributor of trading cards and trading card accessories.

Some of the key accomplishments and responsibilities were;

  • Management of customer’s accounts with annual sales ranging from 20K to 650K.
  • Planned and executed a national marketing plan with a budget of 50K.
  • Oversaw sales growth of 69%.
  • Negotiated new contracts with overseas suppliers.
  • Navigated complicated international business relationships.
  • Oversaw logistics from, Europe, China, the US and Singapore and pushed for changes which drastically decreased delivery time. 
  • Hired four new staff.
  • Negotiated new lease contracts.
  • Overhauled IT system and process.
  • Created lasting improvements to the business core competencies.

Harbour Wholesale

In this role I was the Accountant for a car wholesale business purchasing and selling motor vehicles all over New Zealand.

Some of the key accomplishments and responsibilities were;

  • Developed an Access databases and used cloud technology to improve business processes and decision making.
  • Produced customized monthly reports for management monitoring profit on a per car basis.
  • Generated biweekly inventory reporting with real time information about what was being spent on each vehicle.
  • GST, FBT and PAYE and Income Tax compliance.
  • Budgeting and Tax planning.
  • Arranged overdraft and finance facilitates.
  • Advised and represented the company in CGA matters.

In this role I oversaw the accurate recording of the accounts receivable and accounts payable as well as supporting the payroll system.

Some of the key accomplishments and responsibilities were;

  • Managed transition to new accounting software.
  • Liaised with all sections of the business to produced a budget for a cook book project which was used for the loan to fund it. 
  • Implemented new systems to increase accuracy and efficiency of the AR/AP process.

In this role I provided Business Analysis, IT integration and Accounting compliance work for small businesses in many different industries all over Auckland.

Some of the key accomplishments and responsibilities were;

  • Helped over 40 business better use IT and Accounting to improve their business processes
  • Used software like Access, Excel, Xero, Salesforce, Zapier, Wufoo, Zoho, Shopify, Mailchimp and Google Apps to develop custom solutions to business problems – reducing and in some cases eliminating time spent on important administration tasks.
  • Saved clients thousands of dollars through IT planning and analysis, as well as scoping of their requirements in order to ensure investment in the correct solution for them.
  • Managed Xero accounts and delivered training through screenshot presentations , video content, Skype and video conferencing – empowering clients to get the most out of the software.
