Strategy and Planning

  • Strategy – Delta One – Developed the business plan for the Delta One business. This was particularly crucial as the desk is planning aggressive growth on the back of the launch of the cash Equities business, and entailed both analytical work and internal coordination of the key stakeholders
  • Business Development – Leading the process for the acquisition of a stake in an Equities MTF (trading venue) – carried out general market and competitor analysis, built the valuation model and formulated the recommendation to the top management, while at the same time coordinating the internal approval process
  • Strategy – Fund Management – Assessing the case for launching a managed account business within BarCap. This entails both assessing the market opportunity and establishing the optimal internal set-up in order to deliver the plan

Built the quantitative infrastructure of the newly formed Portfolio Solutions desk, a group helping hedge fund clients to understand and reduce the risk on their portfolios ($50-70m budget)

Developed the business model for the new desk together with the salespersons matching the client needs with the internal resources constraints. Minimized the desk set-up time contributing to become productive within the shortest time possible

Junior Analyst - Program Trading Desk

Developed and managed the system used for maintaining and pricing synthetic basket products, one of the leading derivative products lines traded by the desk ($30-50m budget)

Devised index rebalance trading strategies based on exploiting passive investors' demand arising on the back of index rebalancing events across Europe ($5-10m budget)

Advised traders in trade pricing and management. Found on a daily basis the optimal pricing levels for portfolios as big as $2b of notional, and helped manage the risk as the orders are executed into the market

Worked within a task-force to roll out a new risk management platform across the entire trading floor, managing the traders expectations and ensuring the publishing of the risk data with no disrupture in light of the zero-tolerance nature of the environment
