Responsible for end to end IT infrastructure services for HPE Cloud R&D, and level 3 support for the HPE Cloud portfolio.. Developed data center infrastructure strategies that aligned to company core objectives. Managed the entire HPE Cloud organizations capital budget, applied fiscal controls that dramatically improved the operating budget from being more than 20% over budget YoY to operating within  +/- 3%  

  • Provided strategic/tactical vision and planning along with daily management of staff consisting of 6 managers and 50 individual contributors spanning 3 geographies.
  • Manage $20 Million in annual data center Opex and $10-15 Million in annual Capex.
  • Accountable for providing robust R&D infrastructure support and services for the HPE Cloud engineering BU's. Services include:
    • Core boot strap services i.e. DNS, NTP, SMTP relay, PXE, LDAP, DHCP
    • Hosting collaboration applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Hipchat.
    • Operation , support  and procurement of all hardware platforms 
    • Provide support and operation of all Storage and Networking infrastructure & Services
    • Ensure infrastructure designs comply with corporate cyber security standards
    • responsible for providing support and operation of HPE Helion Openstack managed private clouds for hosting virtual machine workloads.
    • Provide necessary data center facility services, spare and power planning
  • Accountable for providing first class Level 3 24 x7  customer support for the HPE Cloud (IaaS and PaaS) software portfolio. Products include Helion Openstack, CloudSystem, and Stackato

  • Owned HP Cloud Services data center strategy and deployment roadmap, aligning data strategy with business objectives and Cloud market dynamics.

  • Prioritization, direction of installations and maintenance activities for more than 18,000 cloud servers.
  • Ensured all established policies are in use for all activities such as repairs, changes, upgrades, etc.
  • Owned and managed global logistics and asset management for all cloud data centers.
  • Established a RAPID cloud capacity delivery program that supported more than 20 data centers worldwide.
  • Supports adherence to relevant SOX, PCI, ITIL, corporate security or other applicable compliance standards.

  • Lead the Design and Build out of more than (20) data centers world wide
  • Responsible for the engineering, development and implementation all global data center infrastructure management software tools, supporting more than $1 Billion in HP’s critical infrastructure. Software suits include but not limited to OSIsoft –PI, Aperture Vista, Bizalk RFID, RFcode, System Insight Manager, and Metasys.
  • implemented a global rollout of DCIM across all core data centers and key remote sites
  • Owned and maintained global IT data center technology roadmaps, set team goals and objectives that resulted in the execution of the organizational roadmap.
  • Highest rated manager in the IT Infrastructure organization. Maintained highest individual rating 7 years in a row, held Top employee ratings for 2 consecutive years.
  • Fostered collaboration with HP Labs and HP Product team, was able to position my team as Alpha testers of new products and solution, providing real world feedback and driving requirements back into the R&D teams.
  • Increased patent submission for the Data center organization by 100%, was the only team in the ITO organization how was regularly contributing to HP’s Intellectual property.

Identified and implemented critical metrics necessary to manage and monitor the performance of overall operations including: capacity, availability, budget, and inventory. Oversaw all electrical and mechanical infrastructure such as UPS systems, generators, fire suppression systems, DC power systems, and HVAC systems in order to achieve 100% availability. Translate business server, storage, and networking requirements into specific Data Center needs (space, racks, power, AC, cabling) with cost estimates. Has responsibility for meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supports adherence to relevant SOX, PCI, ITIL, corporate security or other applicable compliance standards.
  • Accountable for multiple teams in regards to design, specification, testing, deployment and implementation of company IT projects
  • Managed the IT support teams responsible for managing the companies IT infrastructure i.e. desktops, email and file shares services, anti-virus end point services and active directory.
