Care Assistant

Four Seasons Health Care

Assisting with the daily care of elderly residents with dementia related illness. Furthermore, the position also involves care plan documentation and communicating with families and healthcare professionals, in order to provide the best care possible whilst maintaining positive well-being.      

In accordance with government regulation, mandatory training is to be completed and personal performance reviewed every six months. These include; basic first aid, drugs administration, fire safety, food hygiene, documentation.

Currently studying at undergraduate level with the intention of pursuing a career in postgraduate research (MSc/MPhil/PhD). Core subjects include; Applied Social, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology (CHIP), Developmental, Personality and Abnormality, Research Methods and Statistics, Counselling adn Psychotherapy, Community Social, Personal Development Planning (PDP), Neuropsychology, Cognition.  

Personal activities also include, curator/facilitator of the CHIP discussion group; in addition to successfully completing the MMU Professional Passport scheme. I am a student affiliate of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and active member of six unique divisions within the society. Furthermore, I regularly submit articles of interest to various student publications distributing to the psychological and humanitarian communities. Access to Higher Education Diploma (Level 3)

Bury College

Diploma consisting of one year study gaining qualification credits equivalent to A-Level. The award is recognised nationwide by UCAS and higher education institutions. Core subjects include; Psychology, Sociology, English Language. Relevant modules studied:

Psychology - Social, developmental, concepts of abnormality, research methods, bio-psychology

Sociology - Education, gender studies, family, research methods, secularism

English Language - Standard and Non-standard English, socio-liguistics, phonetics, discourse analysis

Requirements of the course also include oral presentations, report writing, career planning, numeracy and literacy.

Motivational Counsellor
Working in conjunction with media enterprise and various organisations to deliver motivational campaigns. As founder of People For Truth (see above), I am an active campaigner for positive social change. This is reflected in my decision to pursue a career in academic research, specialising in the field of Community and Critical psychology. Furthermore, I am a Samaritans 'listening volunteer' and FutureYou 'on-line' mentor. I work in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society raising vital funds; in addition to being an advocate for various mental health charities such as, Mind, C.A.L.M. and Time To Change.             Personal activities include, organising and participating in regular fundraising events for the Alzheimer's Society; in addition to facilitating the Samaritans Youth Awareness Group (Bury branch) and adopting the technical role of Operations Manager (Branch Co-ordinator and Distribution Officer (BCDO) at Samaritans.      
Event Manger
The Brick Effect provides an additional service as supplier of unsigned musicians to venues across the country. Although, these events are primarily managed by the venue, I have the job of mediating contact between the musician and venue; in addition to organising hospitality arrangements. Our most recent client has been The Orange Grove, Fallowfield, Manchester. We are currently negotiating plans for an independent event that is both produced and managed solely by my company (Matcon Productions Limited).   Note: The Brick Effect is a trading style of Matcon Productions Limited.  
DJ/Music Promoter
As founder of The Brick Effect (see above), I am chief co-ordinator of all activity within the organisation. This includes overseeing production, management and distribution of all artists currently signed to the label; in addition to maintaining radio/site content.        
Attendance of various one-day courses in writing for screen and print. I am currently undertaking several personal ventures including a short film script and autobiographical novel in preparation for review. Samples available on request.    
Formal qualifications include BTEC National Diploma in Multimedia and various Adobe professional development accreditations. I specialise in all aspects of design, particularly brand development; however, recent projects have also included sound and video editing. Samples available on request.
