  • Coordinate program staff, student recruitment, advising, program promotion and advertising, research and analysis of program impact, and outreach.

  • Created a positive learning environment where students felt safe to try new things, display talents, work with different people, and learn from mistakes. Parents were welcome and encouraged to participate in the classroom culture.
  • Served on district technology committee to discuss and evaluate the use of current and future decisions affecting the schools.
  • Mentored preservice teachers including two student teacher interns from the MSU College of Education (2012-2013 Rachelle Galang, 2013-2014 Deedee Stasiak). 
  • Utilized technology hardware in daily activities with the use of an interactive whiteboard, document camera, MP3 players, iPads, laptops, and maker activities. Flipped courses for Math and Geography

  • Implemented a Balanced Literacy Program with the use of the Lucy Calkins Writer's Workshop, Reader's Workshop/Reading Street, Guided Reading, Daily 5, Word Study, the 50 Book Challenge, and student conferring.
  • Used Everyday Mathematics to teach differentiated and manipulative-based math instruction in a hybrid math class. Added math fact program for fluency. Served on Math Curriculum Committee to rewrite assessments and lessons to align to Common Core.
  • Adapted general education curriculum and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of a multicultural learning community (including ELL and Title I students).
  • Instructed, guided, and assessed students using various curriculum-based lessons according to the Common Core, ISTE (technology), State, and District Standards.
  • Led school-wide activities (Hour of Code, Day of Play, Caps for Cancer, Book Bingo, March is Reading Month).

  • Taught CEP 811 (Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education) online. This course won the AT&T Educational Technology Award for Best Fully Online Course at MSU.
  • Will teach the Year 1 (CEP 810, 811, and 812) Hybrid Summer Cohort program on campus and online.
  • Planning engaging lessons, field trips, and experiences to model research-based best practices for technology integration with a focus on the TPACK model.
  • Use Desire to Learn (D2L) and WordPress as course management systems.
  • Thoughtfully respond to and grade blog posts and assignments by teachers pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Technology.
  • Update CEP 810, 811, and 812 to reflect current dates, instructors, links, and assignments.
  • Model open and honest communication to teach online students to collaborate and share work even when they are not face-to-face.

Title I Teacher & Private Tutor (K-8)

Erickson Learning Center
  • Differentiated instruction for groups and individual students who needed additional help with math and language arts at Emanuel Lutheran School in Lansing.
  • Developed and implemented individualized lesson plans to suit the learning styles and needs of elementary age students.
  • Communicated to teachers and parents orally and in writing any progress or concerns.
  • Provided a safe and positive learning environment for students to actively participate and feel free to ask questions.

Teacher - Online English

Language Development Systems - NateOn
  • Used a camera, headset, and keyboard to remotely teach English as a Second Language to elementary - adult students who lived in South Korea.
  • Followed online lesson plans and adapted instruction for each individual student based on needs and questions asked.
  • Corrected students' spoken and written English so they would become fluent English speakers.
  • Worked on fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and word study.
