Multitalented Washington, D.C. resident Mary Candler Fulweiler employs herself as an actor and a freelance proofreader. She performs on stage regularly, with recent appearances as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Moth in Love’s Labour’s Lost. At the Texas Shakespeare Festival, she won the role of Phebe in As You Like It and Amalia in She Loves Me. With the Quest Theatre Ensemble of Chicago, Mary Candler played Little Red in Into the Woods and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. She also was cast in a number of productions with the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, with notable roles as Gracie in All the Girls Love Bobby Kennedy and Lauren in Miss Nelson Has a Field Day. Mary Candler Fulweiler has additionally played Maria in West Side Story and Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank.As a freelance proofreader, Mary Candler Fulweiler works with novels, newsletters, theses, dissertations, articles, and websites for Double Checkers Editing. She previously held the title of Grant Officer with the Illinois Arts Council and wrote and edited grants for the Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Mary Candler Fulweiler possesses a B.A. from Duke University and an MFA from The Academy of Classical Acting, a program of The Shakespeare Theatre Company in conjunction with George Washington University. Additionally, she has studied the Italian language and trained in improv at The Second City in Chicago.
