Creative Specialist

The position of Creative Specialist was originally created to offer QA3 and affiliate companies a full-time, in-house copywriter for the great deal of marketing materials they were generating. In my time at QA3 I expanded this role into the creation of a collaborative in-house marketing department that developed all the internal and external marketing materials and creative input on the web presence of QA3 and its associated companies.

Because my department ran more efficiently thanks to our team collaboration model, I expanded the capabilities of the marketing department and offer complete creative agency services to our financial advisors nationwide. In this capacity my team created the look and brand for several financial advisors, and provided all levels of marketing services for many other advisors around the country.

I was the Master of Ceremonies for QA3's annual conference in 2007 and 2008. My team created all the marketing materials to promote the conference and all the on-site marketing, giveaway, educational material and signage. These two events were the largest events the company had ever held.

My presence along with the abilities of my team gave QA3 an unparalleled in-house marketing department that provided all the services other similar sized broker/dealers need to use agencies for.

Waitt Radio/NRG Media/Mitchell Broadcasting

During my time in terrestrial radio I held many positions, all of which relied heavily upon my creative abilities. Over the nearly four years with Waitt I hosted the morning show on 106.9 KCTY-FM, was Co-host and Producer for “The Otis Twelve Show,” 1290 KKAR-AM, Producer for “Omaha’s Morning News with Kent Pavelka,” “The Jim Fagin Show” and “PM Omaha with Charlie and Mary,” 1290 KKAR-AM. This position also required I create station imaging, production pieces, comedy bits, manage guests, schedules and come up with creative topics for talk radio.

Collaboration with Graphic Designer

I have worked with several graphic designers to figure out how they work and how they like to receive information to make for a very productive work environment. Once I decipher the creative language of the designers I work with, I can more effectively convey and work out concepts to arrive at a successfully completed project.

Digital Nonlinear Audio Editing

My years in radio offered me ample opportunity to work with a wide range of non-linear digital audio software, including ProTools, Cool Edit Pro, Audacity and several different proprietary audio workstations. I currently do freelance audio work using a basic podcasting microphone, my laptop and Audacity. This skill can come in handy wherever additional narration may be needed to enhance any project.

Digital Nonlinear Video Editing

I've made several short comedy videos to entertain friends and family members over the years. Recently, a freelance client needed some video podcasting. As a result I've been working with more advanced cameras and have become well acquainted with Final Cut Express (the entry level version of Final Cut Pro). I can provide video and/or audio podcasting creation or support.
