Community Manager

The European Community team for Aion got rebuilt in Brighton again to support the game in its post launch phase locally from there. I have basically kept the same position as before but am now operating from Brighton again.

Community Manager

NCsoft West

During the pre-launch and launch phase of Aion, the European community team has been working in direct vicinity to the Western production team based in Seattle, USA.

During that time it has been vital to show flexibility and support the game's launch as good as possible. Several beta weekends have been held to promote and test the game in North America and Europe.

I've worked together with Marketing and PR to set up the Facebook page for Aion and bring it up to more than 60000 members.

Community Coordinator Aion

NCsoft Europe

Thrilled by the challenge to establish a community for an online roleplaying game before the launch of the game and throughout the beta phase I decided to join the newly formed Aion Community Team. The main tasks of the job are keeping players informed about the game through the message boards and news on the websites, gather feedback from the community for the developers of the game and organize contests and meetings for the community. On special occasions it is necessary to represent the company in person in front of the press (e.g. press demos at Conventions).

Community Coordinator City of Heroes

NCsoft Europe

When NCsoft Europe hired me as German Community Coordinator for City of Heroes the game was already running for four months in Europe and I took over the existing German community of the online roleplaying game. The main tasks of the job were keeping players informed about the game through the message boards and news on the websites, gather feedback from the community for the developers of the game and organize contests and meetings for the community. On special occasions it was also necessary to represent the company in person in front of the press (e.g. press demos at Leipzig Games Convention or TV shows)

Application Feature Designer

Giesse + Partner

The main task in the job was to come up with ideas for new features of an existing application and define how they should be implemented by the programmers. After implementation I was also involved in the QA process and customer feedback interaction on the official internet message boards of the company.

Martin's got loads of initiative and can plan, execute and recap major projects with minimal supervision. (...) Reporting to me in a previous role as Team Lead for City of Heroes, Martin demonstrated strong leadership skills and an eye for the big picture.

Stephen Reid

I was bowled over by his work from day one, and he's gone from strength to strength in his community work. I'm convinced he's nowhere near his full potential yet, and wherever he ends up, he's going to blaze a trail.

Julien Crevits

Martin is a detail-oriented manager who is just great at managing people and working with. Plus, he is very creative and open-minded.

His brilliant interpersonal skills are only matched by his great ideas, and I'd work with him again in a second.

Angela Sewell

His consistent and pro-active drive to deliver "what the gaming community really wants" is superior and his enthusiasm is contagious! I have been so impressed by his creativity in designing and managing our community presence at consumer events and I hope to continue working with him at the GamesCom in Cologne.
