Dec 04 - present:  Rydon Group - Technical Co-ordinator

  • Returned to Rydon with the recommendation of the Chief Executive
  • Appointment and management of consultant Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, SAP and EcoHomes assessors, etc.
  • Preparation and management of fee budgets, design programmes and specifications
  • Chairing project meetings with other departments and the design team
  • Projects include luxury apartments and housing schemes of various sizes and types, with Housing Association and Business units when part of the overall scheme
  • Dealing with Scheme Development Standards, Secured by Design and specification requirements

  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director as part of the Management Team
  • Responsible for all technical matters, including the appointment and management of consultant Architects (internal and external), Civil and Structural Engineers, etc.
  • Liaison with Planning Consultants and Architects through the whole Planning process to achieve the best and quickest decisions and ensuring all designs in accordance with company standards
  • Preparation of Technical Reports for potential land acquisitions
  • Preparation and management of fee budgets

  • Appointment and management of all design consultants
  • Preparation and monitoring of design programmes using Teamplan software
  • Projects included a steel-framed apartment block, timber frame and brick & block houses (up to £1.8m each), Housing Association, office and retail units

  • Projects included conversion of barrack blocks and new pavilion-style information centre as well as new housing and apartment developments

  • Production of all types of architectural drawings using AutoCAD
  • Wide range of projects varying from an oast house conversion and new housing to prisons and a £30m office development
  • Management and training of new members of staff and setting up CAD systems for clients

  • Production of all drawings for Planning and Building Regulations approvals for a number of sites and liaising with Local Authorities and the NHBC
