Summary

A conscientious and enthusiastic student with a passion for Geography, specifically in relation to  sustainability surrounding water and waste management. Able to deliver effective and professional services in a dynamic and fast paced environment with ability to take on board diverse skills and responsibility.  Studied a wide range of river engineering projects and well practised in assessment analysis and report writing.  Would love to work with clients and stakeholders discussing impacts and solutions with regards to our society, economy and environment.

Girl Scouts of Western Washington - Camp River Ranch

Spent three months working at a summer camp in Washington State where i was responsible for training and looking after horses as well as caring for, supervising and teaching children to ride. Gained life long skills such as independence, creativity and adaptability to a new environment and way of life. Participating and leading group activities enabled me to display confidence and my willingness to be outgoing.

Work experience in a professional services environment. Gained valuable experience in Business Continuity Management, Enterprise Resilience and Disaster Recovery. Participated in formal meetings and informal discussions with staff from a range of areas. Researched client issues, analysed information and summarised this on PowerPoint slides. Demonstrated reliability in all work ethics and punctuality in completing tasks.

Skills - Additional Evidence

GIS and Statistical analysis

Used GIS and ARCmap to create maps showing the best place for wind turbines in the lake district, as well as creating a map highlighting socio-environmental consequences for the new HS2 route. Also used SPS to test for various significance of specific health related data. 

Time Management 

Member of the elite squad at Sheffield University Rowing Club as well as Novice Women's Captain. I achieved the balance with education through exceptional time management and organisational skills.

Can use Excel to create spreadsheets and organise information. Publisher to create engaging posters. Word for professional-quality documents and PowerPoint for creating concise presentations. 

Communication

Peer Coaching Course. Explored different ways of assisting those with a variety of issues, and gained a greater awareness of being conscientious and how best to approach those in need.

Leadership

Sports Leaders Programme:  Involved teaching young children a variety of sports and the importance of keeping fit.

Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award: Demonstrated and gained many survival skills including the ability to display strength and determination in completing all aspects of the challenge.

Activity Leader for rowing: Supervise people of all ages and capabilities in a safe manner whilst rowing on the water or training indoors
