My side project is http://bushpilotshave.com. I am helping with design of packaging, web and other collateral materials. I am also involved with traffic generation through SEO and PPC.
Currently, I am open to new opportunities in the field of UI/Visual Design. My talents and skills are best used when I am able to look at a problem and find a solution through prototyping and designing the look and feel of the project. Any employment opportunity with this thought process is one I would like to explore. Please contact me through LinkedIn or my website.
BASF is a major producer of chemicals with over 100,000 employees worldwide. The Plant Science division develops new technologies for farmers across the globe through its research labs in RTP North Carolina. My role was to take a fledgling intranet and turn it into a viable asset for the corporate employees. Using the BASF corporate guidelines, I designed wireframes, prototypes and pixel perfect visual designs using Axure RP, Photoshop and DotNetNuke. These designs were used for both the intranet and the web applications that were used by the scientists. The feedback before and after the official launch has been overwhelmingly positive.
I was initially involved with taking existing Flash eLearning projects and re-purposing them to fit into the Captivate environment. After these initial projects were completed, I was brought on to do further designs, templates and development of new eLearning projects based on pre-written scripts and audio content. I enjoyed the problem aspect of the projects—both on a technical level and a creative level. My client was extremely happy with the work that I did and even wrote a thoughtful, glowing recommendation of my abilities and work ethic.
**This was an intermittent job that I did for the time period mention but only for weeks or months at a time.
The North Carolina Immunization Branch is a service to families to prevent diseases through education and vaccination. I was hired onto develop their 100+ page website using Dreamweaver and bring it online in eight weeks. There was a one-month delay before I got started on the actual project, so I used that time to develop an interactive coloring book and word search game using Flash. The concept and character in the coloring book and word search game was based on a pamphlet the organization gave to children.
Apple Rock is a custom display company that designs and builds tradeshow exhibits for clients all over the world. I took this job while I was between jobs.
Working at a frenetic pace—sometimes between 8:00 am to 1:00 am—I was involved in over 25 projects that were presented to the company’s clients in one way or another. During my short time, I designed and animated numerous exhibits, and helped fellow designers with different aspects of the 3D Max software. Unfortunately, my enjoyable stint was short lived; however, I enjoyed the fast paced environment with knowledgeable people and felt I learned a lot in a short amount of time. A lot of my work can be seen in my online portfolio.
I attended the Art Institute of Dallas a few years after earning my bachelor's degree from Tulane University. I graduated with a degree in Computer Animation and Multimedia. Courses involved 3D Animation, Flash and Director development, Web development and fine arts classes.
