About  Mark Zweifach

With a background that includes two decades as a Kaiser Permanente psychiatrist, Dr. Mark Zweifach maintains a volunteer profile in the San Diego community. He assists those who are homeless through Alpha Project, and he has engaged with Second Chance, which provides employment training. Dr. Mark Zweifach also supports organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association and the American Red Cross, and he is a longstanding member of the Sierra Club and the San Diego Puppetry Guild.

Also having a longstanding passion for creative writing and theater, Dr. Mark Zweifach is known as a stage director. He wrote, directed, and performed in productions for the 2013, 2014, and 2015 San Diego Fringe Festival. He won the 2012 Aubrey Award, and in 2015, he directed I Am My Own Wife, which was performed by the New Group West as part of the AACTFest.

Dr. Zweifach’s background in health care includes clinical responsibilities with San Diego County Mental Health Services. Fellowship trained in geriatric psychiatry, he also served as assistant clinical professor with the University of California, San Diego.
