A privately practicing ophthalmologist and attending physician at several prestigious New York hospitals, Dr. Mark Hornfeld brings extensive medical knowledge to his career. In addition to these specialty procedures, Dr. Mark Hornfeld also performs comprehensive ophthalmology treatments using instruments and procedures of the latest technology. Dr. Mark Hornfeld distinguishes himself with his comprehensive medical background. He conducted his ophthalmological residency at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York, where he was named Chief Resident. He has also completed a fellowship in medical oncology, a residency in internal medicine, and an internship as well as a doctoral degree in osteopathy. Dr. Hornfeld's credentials in the field of ophthalmology include several professional memberships. He holds a fellowship with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of both the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the New York Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons. He has been certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he currently holds several hospital positions in New York. He serves as an associate attending physician at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and as an attending physician at the Fifth Avenue Surgicenter and the MacKool Eye Institute. Dr. Mark Hornfeld dedicates himself to the application of his ophthalmological knowledge to heal patients and educate other surgeons. He maintains regular involvement in humanitarian efforts, and in 1996, traveled to India to serve as an ophthalmic surgeon at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai.
